$150 for the entire 12-week course.
In their collaboration for the book, “Basic Guidelines for Teachers of Yoga” B.K.S. Iyengar and his daughter, Geeta Iyengar, set forth a series of sequences for the order in which asanas should be taught, practiced and learned. In this course, we will practice those sequences, one per week, in order, as prescribed by them as building blocks to the development of a healthy Iyengar Yoga practice.
In her book “Yoga in Action” Geetaji refers to these sequences. “It is not the individual asana but a consolidated practice of a group of asanas that brings about the desired effect on the practitioner”. While our focus will be on asana, you will also learn the Sanskrit names of the postures and some of the philosophy behind the practice of asana and yoga as a whole.
Class limited to 15 students. Suitable for students with no Iyengar Yoga experience as well as those who want to refine their understanding of the foundations of the Iyengar method.
