Prana percolates throughout all of life, it is the vital energy that supports, animates and transforms matter. You might experience it as a felt sense of a primal energy or an open field of awareness.

Drawing prana into different parts of your body can stimulate, appease or distribute energy to create equilibrium in the nervous system.

In a Pranayama practice, you tune-in to the qualities of this field through the breath.

In this course, we will introduce and build upon basic positions and techniques of pranayama, including:

  • Seated and supported supine positions
  • Breath awareness and the revelation of the dimensions of breathing
  • Specific pranayama techniques

As the course is progressive, enrollment in the series is strongly suggested. You will be given material to begin a daily practice

Prerequisite for Students: Basic Familiarity with Iyengar Yoga
