7:30 pm – 9:15 pm
The Iyengar Yoga Institute of Los Angeles invites you to try one of our newest classes, Level 2/3 with Chris Beach on Monday nights, 7:30-9:15 pm.
That’s right, our higher level classes are now 1.75 hours to allow for increased timings of inversions, introduction of variations, and generally to go deeper into the poses. As Chris says, “At this level, I feel that Sirsasana and Sarvangasana should be taught in every class, and inversions introduced when possible.”
Chris Beach has been practicing Iyengar Yoga for 30 years and teaching for 20 years. A former IYILA Board president, he has been living abroad for the last several years, teaching in Lyon, France, and has recently returned to the Los Angeles area. We are excited to have a teacher with Chris’s depth of experience and ability to help students develop further maturity in their practices.
Chris has been to Pune, India four times to study with members of the Iyengar family, and he has studied with a wide range of senior teachers including Patricia Walden, Manouso Manos, Gloria Goldberg, Carolyn Belko, and Christian Pisano.
He is a certified teacher (CIYT) at the Intermediate Junior III level.
Chris served as president of IYASC-LA from 2005 to 2008, and as
president of IYNAUS from 2008 to 2012.
